Hydrogen sulfide (also known as H2S, sewer gas, swamp gas, stink damp, and sour damp) is a colorless gas known for its pungent “rotten egg” odor at low concentrations. It is extremely flammable and highly toxic.

Hydrogen sulfide is used or produced in a number of industries, such as

  • Oil and gas refining
  • Mining
  • Tanning
  • Pulp and paper processing
  • Rayon manufacturing

Hydrogen sulfide also occurs naturally in sewers, manure pits, well water, oil and gas wells, and volcanoes. Because it is heavier than air, hydrogen sulfide can collect in low-lying and enclosed spaces, such as manholes, sewers, and underground telephone vaults. Its presence makes work in confined spaces potentially very dangerous.

The health effects of hydrogen sulfide depend on how much H2S a worker breathes and for how long. However, many effects are seen even at low concentrations. Effects range from mild, headaches or eye irritation, to very serious, unconsciousness and death.

Stainless Steel Single-Stage Regulator

h2s monitorRecommended for very high purity, reactive gas applications where slight variance in delivery pressure is acceptable as cylinder pressure decreases. They are able to withstand internal vacuums that are generated during purging operations and are designed for maximum safety. A diffusion resistant, packless diaphragm valve is optional.  Typical applications include Regulation of Corrosive Gases, Laser Gas Systems, Gas Chromatography, CEM and EPA Protocol Standards, and Process Analyzers.

General Purpose Single-Stage Regulator

These general purpose single-stage regulators are recommended for inert and non-corrosive gas applications where precise control of delivery pressure is not necessary at either high or low pressures. They are well suited for closely monitored analytical work and are ideal for use with liquefied hydrocarbon gases. They should not be used in applications where inboard diffusion of air or outgassing of elastomeric components would adversely affect the work being done.

 General Purpose Two-Stage Regulator

These general purpose two-stage regulators are recommended for use with inert and non-corrosive pure gases and mixtures where constant delivery pressure regardless of fluctuation in tank pressure is required at high or low pressures.  They should not be used in applications where inboard diffusion of air or outgassing of elastomeric components would adversely affect the work being done.

Specifications for the GP Single Stage and GP Two Stage are the same unless specified.

Calibration Gas Regulators

The control valve permits constant gas flow and easy on/off capabilities. Each regulator comes with a cylinder pressure gauge and is available in several preset flows for either a CGA 600 or C-10 fitting.  Multiflow capabilities are also available.

Calibration Kits

Switchover Manifold

equip2Automatic switchover manifold systems change between a primary side, or bank, and a secondary side using the pressure differential between the two sides of high pressure gas supply. Designed to continuously supply the downstream process with high purity gas from the two individual cylinders, or from two entire banks of cylinders manifolded together. It is available with brass or stainless steel bar stock regulators for use with ultra high purity or corrosive gases.
